Rockville, Md. (January 12, 2018) – The Center for Organizational Excellence, Inc. (COE), today announced its sponsorship of the Shared Services Leadership Coalition. The Shared Services Leadership Coalition is an association of companies, nonprofits and individuals with the singular purpose of supporting and advancing legislation to accelerate shared services implementation in government.

By participating in the coalition, COE joins a growing community advocating for widespread federal adoption of the Shared Service business model, which transfers back office administrative duties to higher capacity, third-party service providers. The result, as seen across successful private and public entities, is more efficient service delivery at a lower cost with greater accuracy and accessibility. COE shares the coalition’s vision of a shared service marketplace wherein collaboration and competition drive providers to higher states of performance, innovation and utilization at lower cost of delivery.

COE has been a proponent and leader of the shared service movement since day one. In 2003, COE built the Enterprise Human Resources Integration (EHRI) Infrastructure for the Office of Personnel Management (OPM), which is responsible for managing human resource data for the entire federal government. To date, it is the largest government human resources database in the world and continues to be a model for designing and implementing high-performing shared service systems across agencies. With the coalition, COE is acting to make systems like EHRI the federal standard.

“COE is proud to join the Shared Services Leadership Coalition in their push to create a government capable of meeting 21st Century performance demands and achieving their missions,” said president and chief executive officer, Steve Goodrich. “Shared services adoption in essential to making government more efficient and effective in the long term. We are impressed with the coalition’s commitment to instigate change and, most importantly, ensure its sustainability.”
