COE President, Steve Goodrich, Moderates Keynote Panel at FedSMC

The Center for Organizational Excellence, Inc. (COE) announced today that its President and CEO, Steve Goodrich, will moderate a key note panel at the Federal Senior Managers Conference (FedSMC) to be held the Hyatt Regency Chesapeake in Cambridge, Maryland April 15 – 18. The panel, “The Samurai Leader’s Approach to Accountability,” will focus on innovative approaches to accountability in the federal government, taking inspiration from the holistic training approach of Samurai warriors. Mr. Goodrich will be joined Mr. John Sepulveda, Veterans Affairs; Ms. Karen Newton-Cole, Housing and Urban Development; and Mr. Brad Bunn, Defense Logistics Agency.

“I’m looking forward to hearing my esteemed colleagues describe leadership development approaches in their respective Agencies,” said Steve Goodrich. “Though we come from different backgrounds, we have a shared commitment to developing government leaders who are fully prepared to address the myriad of challenges that face the federal sector.”

The conference brings together senior leaders from a myriad of federal agencies and private companies to discuss collaborative ways of producing effective and efficient leaders in government. The conference also serves as a platform for showcasing emerging technologies that can help support leadership initiatives including mobility devices, useful applications, and cloud computing.

A wide variety of topics will be presented on by representatives from several government agencies, including Department of the Interior, National Institutes of Health, and the Government Services Administration. Utilizing science and research to support agency missions, developments in program management, incorporating new technologies into business processes, and innovative approaches to transforming civil service through leadership and accountability are among the topics to be covered at the conference. Other opportunities for learning include networking sessions and IT demonstrations.
